Broadcast Board of Governors Black History Jazz Concert Reviews

Just wanted to let you know that I just returned from the jazz concert at Cohen Building and I got to say definitely” give the drummer some!”. I really enjoyed the sound of Comfort Zone, and I am so glad that you and I ran into each other on the elevator and you told me about the performance that would happen today.

Everyone and I mean everyone was really good. I enjoyed the female vocalist and I am always partial to the horn section, so I really got into a groove with the trumpet and sax. I was still grooving as I was leaving, so Voices of America asked me to do a small interview which I did.

You guys have definitely convinced me to come enjoy some more sounds of Comfort Zone and I will be checking you out at Clydes. I just had my co-workers laughing because I said, Oh well, I now have another place to drag my husband to in order to check out some smooth jazz sounds, because that is definitely my thing……….going to different places to hear some smooth jazz. I love it.

Also, let me know when the CD drops, cause I am definitely going to make that purchase.

WHAT CAN I SAY….The concert was the best break in the world? I was happy to see support from everyone. The company I bought with me enjoyed the concert as well and pick up your schedule of events. Thanks again for including me on your e-mail. I called my sister to tell about the concert….she was jealous.

One of my co-workers and I attended your performance today and it was GREAT!!! It really took us to “back-in-the-day.”

OMG!!! You all were outstanding! You are really good at what you do! I was truly impressed. This was a great opportunity for your coworkers to see you in action. I'm glad I was able to make it, and thanks for inviting me!

May 20th, 2006 Comfort Zone keeps ‘em dancing!!!

Whew, what a show! Who would have thought that a group that bills themselves as contemporary jazz would turn out to be a such dancer’s delight?!? The seven members of Comfort Zone took turns wowing the crowd with their riffs on drums, trumpet, sax, keyboards, guitar and bass………and let us not forget the amazing pipes on Miss Pamela Ellis. Whether she was on the sidelines, punching it up with the tamborine, or front and center, leading the band with her sultry vocals, she definitely kept the groove working! The bar was packed and the dining room filled with people waiting to hear what was next……….Comfort Zone will definitely be back at Sydney’s, so be sure to check the schedule often, so you don’t miss their next appearance.

One of the region’s premier jazz acts, Comfort Zone will put on a show you won’t soon forget! Their sound is infused with R&B, soul and even some contemporary flare thrown in - whatever they are playing, it comes from the heart.

The area’s own Comfort Zone took the stage later in the evening to put on two dinner shows and left both dinner seatings wanting more!! They continue to prove why they are one of the region’s premier jazz acts with their always crowd pleasing showmanship and ever evolving musical performances. ( Sydney's Rehoboth Jazz Fest 06)
